Ephesians 6: 12-13: “Our fight is not against people on earth. We are fighting against the spiritual powers of evil in the heavenly places. 13That is why you need to get God’s full armor. Then on the day of evil you will be able to stand strong. And when you have finished the whole fight, you will still be standing.”

 

14 “So stand strong with the belt of truth tied around your waist"

• Speak the truth all the time, even during the times of temptations

• Telling the truth will protect you

• If you are a lady and there is a man/boy that has intentions of involving you in sexual relationships and you do not want, clearly tell him the truth and  that will save you a lot.

• May times we fail to tell the truth because we don’t want to disappoint the people we are talking with and we end up being the ones disappointed,

 

14+On your chest, wear the protection of Right Living (Righteousness)”

• We are not righteous because of the good things we have done, we are righteous because Jesus Christ died for us all and took away our blame/shame/guilt/sins

• The righteousness we have is not ours, it belongs to Jesus Christ.

• Since you believe in God and in His Son, God chose you when you were not worthy of being right with Him, but your righteousness is a free gift from God.

• So wear this free gift from God (righteousness) and see yourself as someone holding/wearing it and you will not steal, kill, lie, or be adulterous

• When you see yourself as being righteous, it will protect you from sinning any more

• Pray to Jesus to keep bearing his righteousness on you

 

In other words, people that see themselves as sinners do not carry the righteousness of jesus Christ with them and will find it very easy to lie, to steal, to commit the sexual sin, to kill, because their souls are fully susceptible/exposed to the devil.

15 “On your feet, wear the Good News of Peace to help you stand strong”

• A car needs engine oil to keep running/moving in good health

• A car’s engine will knock/crash if it runs out of engine oil and it is not stopped

• The car user needs to constantly re-oil his engine as long as he needs to drive his car

• As how a car needs constant re-oiling in order to keep moving very well, we also need to keep getting the Word of God to keep our Salvation moving

• Our salvation will crush/knock if we do not keep on re-oiling it with the Word of God.

• By sinning, we will have had our salvation crush and remember the crushing of a car engine is the major mechanical fault in a car.

 

16“And also use the shield of Faith with which you can stop all the burning arrows that come from the evil one”

If you are in a football team and you have a very good central defender;

• You will be sure that he will block all the passes and the shorts from an opponent team during a game/match

• Even the midfielders and strikers will be strong and will play very well because they know that the back is very steady

• The striking line of the opponent team will find it very difficult to penetrate your defense and shoot in the goal posts

• If something happens and your most trusted central defender is weakened or is out of the play ground, the whole team's defense will shake and the opponent’s striking line will find it very easy to score very many goals

 

The devil knows that when you have much faith and believe in the Word of God it will not be easy for him to penetrate you, so he will use all the tricks to attack and weaken your faith, so that he makes you an easy ground for shooting his goals that include;

• Fear, being troubled, stress, hopelessness etc

• These will lead to diseases, lack of peace etc

 

The tricks that the devil uses to attach your faith include;

• Failing you to read the Bible

• Failing you to attend fellowships

• Using his agents to discourage you from being there for God

• By bringing challenges to you even in serving God

 

 

Use the following tricks/passes/ways to have your team (Your faith in God’s Word) strong enough and stop all the burning arrows that come from the evil one;

• Read the bible and memorize some verses e.g “With God, everything is Possible”

• Believe in every Word in the Bible

• Do away with negative people

• Attend and participate in fellowships

• Ask Jesus Christ to give you the gift of faith

 

Then you will enjoy salvation, be healed, God’s mercy and protection, prosperity and all these and much more are the goals that you and Your Jesus’ team will score.
